Felt - intertwined, bound together, forever as one - United 3rd October 2009 Last June we wrote about We Felt United , a group who wanted to organise an International Day of Felt, similar to World Wide Knit in Public Day . Well, the date is looming and the lists of countries getting involved is getting larger. This Day of Felt is being organised as part of UN International Year of Natural Fibres, and...

SO MUCH YARN, SO LITTLE TIME! (Free subscription) | 06/22/2009
Signs of summer...the sun...the beach days...some light knits...and very little posting. Yes, the posts are few and far between, so I will try to make it worth the read! (I will atleast put in some pretty photos...promise:) I made a day of World Wide knit in public day...joining the regulars at Shall We Knit for some sock blank dying. This was such a great time! I have so many more ideas after dying...

I finished the small sock that I started on World Wide Knit in Public Day. It’s another Wee Tiny Sock, done with no changes this time, just simple and easy. Nothing quite matched it in the garden at the moment, but it goes nicely with this purple something-or-other. I now have three tiny socks. Sock Summit lasts [...]

For World Wide Knit in Public day we joined the Knitch crowd at the Park Tavern which is right next to this lovely park smack dab in the middle of Midtown Atlanta. This is Piedmont Park. This park seems like it has been in Atlanta forever but it has recently gotten a little bit of a face lift. Behold the fancy new water park! If you are a long time Atlantan like me, you know that the pool at

2086. I'm talking, of course, of World Wide Knit In Public Day, where the world becomes your auntie's craft room for the afternoon, and you just get to like it, mister. A notable member of the PDX "Knitterati", Melissa Barton, has very charming pictures of the Pioneer Square insurgency . She even made armbands for 'em. I have no interest in knitting, (my creative urge does not run to the...

I had a fabulous time on Saturday at the WWKIPD gathering in Cardiff! I didn't expect such a large turnout... At one point I counted 60 people! Members of both Yarn & Yarn and the Cardiff Stitch & Bitch group attended, in addition to a few 'unrecruited' lone knitters. The weather was absolutely fantastic; we spent the day on the grass, indulging in homemade cakes and biscuits... I wish it...

Our weather for the World Wide Knit in Public Day could not have been more perfect, nor could the beach side venue of Rebecca Spit. I love the summer ferry ride over to Quadra Island, and rather than stay in...

I went down to Main Street Yarns yesterday to do my duty on World Wide Knit in Public Day. It also seemed to be World Wide Run Past Knitters in Public Day, because there were a lot of runners and joggers out enjoying the sunshine and taking a shortcut through the space we were in. There were [...]

Today is World Wide Knit in Public day. And, in due course, I will be knitting in public at the event hosted by my very favorite LYS in the whole world, Yarning For You . I've actually done a ton of knitting this week, one way and another, but have had no time to share it. Most of the knitting has been done at events that have been taking up a lot of my time. It was Older Daughter's last week of school,...

this is me knitting at Crich Today is World Wide Knit In Public Day so I brought some knitting with me on a picnic to Crich Stand, which is not too far down the road from here. Its a lovely day for sitting in the sunshine, and I though it was the perfect chance to do a small bit of knit graffiti. I have wanted to do some form of knit graffiti for awhile now but its hard to do when you don't actually...

Granny Babette Afghan, in progress I've been working away steadily on my Granny Babette afghan. This is a couch project. I can't be hauling around 50 skeins of yarn with me! As you can see by my progress, I sit on the couch quite often. I'm LOVING how this project is coming together. By varying the sizes of the afghan squares, the pattern stays challenging and interesting. I'm joining the squares...

It'll be there as part of the Jerwood Contemporary Makers exhibition until the 19th of July, after which it will be touring the country. If you're in London and fancy seeing what knitters can make of each others' finished projects, why not pop along to it? World Wide Knit in Public Day has proved...
