While I will always have a preference for paper baking cups over silicone cups - or even for just greasing the tin directly - when I am baking muffins or cupcakes, I have to give the makers of the silicone products credit for coming up with some really cute ideas that paper cups just can’t [...]

I love it when I get a cookbook that leaves me wanting more and more. One such book was Beyond the Great Wall , which I reviewed here . From that book, I've become addicted to dumplings and a bit of a dumpling-making machine. Also, I love the Kazakh Family Loaf recipe, and have made it since the review. I plan on making the Green Tea Shortbread again soon, too. Another book I reviewed, Little Cakes...

I love helping people in the baking supplies aisle at the store. Call it the teacher passing on her passion in me if you will. Tonight, I stopped by Whole Paycheck to pick up some honey for a dish I’m baking with Sara, some milk for a throw down with friends tonight, and some [...]

Lately I've been making cupcakes for my co-workers. We are all working a lot of hours in preparation for our project launch on September 17th. One of the guys I work closely with prefers muffins over cupcakes. He also really loves coconut. I discovered this recipe for Individual Blueberry-Coconut Pound Cake Muffins from Sara's Secrets while looking for something he may like. The only problem is that...

My nine-year-old cousin was over recently, and we were making blueberry muffins (the oatmeal muffin recipe, with fresh blueberries in lieu of raisins - so tasty). Inspiration struck while we waited for the muffins to come out of the oven. He poked around in the extra blueberries, and created an original, made entirely of blueberry [...]

Before we went away I made some blueberry muffins to Sally's recipe (thanks, Sally !). Knowing I'm always on a diet Husband asked why I'd made them. 'Because I had blueberries that had to be used up.' 'Why did you have blueberries?' 'Well, duh, I bought them to make blueberry muffins.' Honestly husbands can be so thick sometimes.

Filed under: Recipes , Baking The idea started as a way to use up some sour* milk. I couldn't bear to just pour it down the drain and so I started scouting around for ways in which to use it up. I remembered reading a line in a vintage cookbook about saving sour milk for quick breads and muffins (oh, the food knowledge we've lost over the years, I'm sure my grandma Bunny would have know what to do...

Ripe juicy pears and a polenta flour base make this new muffin recipe an instant favorite. I'll mention right off the bat- it's not low carb. It uses a moderate amount of sugar and some rice flour with organic corn meal. But if you're pining for a gluten-free vegan muffin recipe that you will absolutely love and devour with relish and lick your fingers and say softly (in your best Lauren Bacall

Yesterday I posted about making ice cream . Well, I also went onto Amazon Japan to "review" the Japanese recipe book in Japanese. I gave it 1 star and basically wrote in Japanese what I did in English. (Actually, I wasn't going to even give it a star.) Well, apparently "they" don't like less than 3 stars...they deleted my review! This actually has happened before, we had bought a book from a secondhand...

My peace of mind was disturbed this morning by a question of if other bloggers should use recipes and photos without asking permission. It is a disturbing thing, both to have to ask people to remove content and to be considered unfriendly and ungenerous by doing it. And maybe I am, maybe I am mean bitch but still, I put a lot of time and work into what I am doing here and I feel a bit cheated
