CG Rescues Four From Eight-Foot Seas

Paul Doughty, Linda Doughty, both of Keyport, N.J., and Berlinda and Antoinette Cole were sailing the Wolf when it began taking on water after the vessel apparently struck an unknown object in water. Coast Guard Helps Find Missing Diver

After a crewmember aboard the Discoverer Deep Seas spotted a possible man overboard, the Coast Guard rescue aircrew flew to the location, found the diver, and guided the Discoverer Deep Seas' small boat to the diver's location to pick him out of the water. A medic aboard the Discoverer Deep Seas assessed the diver's condition and he was transferred back to his dive vessel in good condition.

Fishing Vessel Submerged at Pier

Coast Guard Station Jones Beach received the initial call that the Miss Edith, a clamming dredge owned by Bayhead Inc., Manahawkin, N.J., was submerged in roughly 20-feet of water and leaked 100-gallons of diesel fuel in the Hog Island Channel. The owner reported he had deployed a boom around the vessel to stop the leakage.
