Al Gore

Al Gore

Born March 31, 1948, Albert Arnold "Al" Gore, Jr. is an American politician, businessman, and Nobel laureate.

Gore served in the United States House of Representatives (1977–85) and the United States Senate (1985–93) representing Tennessee. From 1993 to 2001, he was the forty-fifth Vice President of the United States, under Bill Clinton.

Gore was the Democratic nominee for President in the 2000 election, one of the most controversial elections in American history. After a series of voting discrepancies and court challenges in the state of Florida the United States Supreme Court, with its final ruling on Bush v. Gore, stopped ongoing ballot recounts, giving George W. Bush the electoral college victory, and consequently the presidency.

Today, Gore is president of the American television channel Current TV, chairman of Generation Investment Management, a director on the board of Apple Inc., an unofficial adviser to Google's senior management, and chairman of the Alliance for Climate Protection.

Gore lectures widely on the topic of global warming, and in 2006 starred in the Academy Award-winning documentary An Inconvenient Truth, discussing global warming and the environment. Under his leadership, one of Gore's organizations, Save Our Selves, organized the benefit concert Live Earth in an effort to raise awareness about climate change. The concert was held worldwide on July 07, 2007.

Newsweek Notes Al Gore's Favorite New Quote, But Omits It Came From a Marxist

Permit a late word or two on Newsweek’s thoroughly in-the-tank cover story for Al Gore. Sharon Begley oozed about Gore’s favorite quote in his book – but never seems to note that Gore’s "philosopher" expert is a Marxist. It comes near the very end of the piece : His favorite quote in [his new book] Our Choice is from the philosopher Theodor Adorno (1903–1969):...

Al Gore’s Attorney helps Mathieson

The Mathieson message - We want the votes counted, so stop counting! Great logic, but then again this was the Democrat who was so “tough on crime” he bucked his own party to let felons work in schools. And in a great show of bipartisanship and effectiveness, he’s hired an expert, John Young, from the Al Gore [...]

Newsweek Notes Al Gore's Favorite New Quote, But Omits It Came From a Marxist | NewsBusters.org Gore's entire construction of the global-warming debate is between reason (that's the we're-almost-roasted-marshmallows doom) and unreason, superstition, and capitalist propaganda (that's conservatives). We face a "democracy crisis" because people have failed so far to bow to his genius. No excuse...

Separating Fact From Al Gore Idiocy

From Padmaparna Ghosh : The claim: " The IPCC, in its fourth assessment report in 2007, said that Himalayan glaciers are retreating faster than in any other part of the world, and if this continues, they are likely to disappear by 2035, or perhaps sooner ." The truth: “ There is no conclusive scientific evidence to link global warming and Himalayan glaciers, nor to link the black carbon...

Profit Motives, Greens and Al Gore...

The driving force behind any economic activity is the profit motive: ignoring the idealistic and the altruistic portions of society (too few to make a meaningful impact anywhere outside of a Star Trek Federation fantasy society), people do things because it is in their own interest to do so: the profit motive is what drives human activity, not merely purely economic activity, but virtually all activity...
