Apparently, John Shadegg realizes that after not supporting Harry Mitchell's modern G.I. Bill (288 cosponsors and counting, but no Shadegg), he has some bridges to repair with the veterans in his district. Too bad for him (and for his veteran constituents) that his attempt to do that was all sizzle and no steak. Thanks to PolitickerAZ for the heads-up on this one... On Thursday,...

Bob Lord’s vassals are touting his haul of $220,000 in his latest finance report, which out paces John Shadegg’s comparatively meager $150,000. I guess that “Well, wait, I’m running after all” routine put a damper on Shadegg’s fundraising. So much for that “incumbent advantage,” eh? Am I smelling an upset here? Or is that just my new cologne?

While it appears congressional campaigns are still mum about their first quarter fundraising numbers, Republican insiders are privately expecting John Shadegg to post more than $650K this quarter in his quest to "crush" Democrat Bob Lord. The other day, I wrote a post where I said that despite John McCain’s personal popularity, local Republicans still seem to be in trouble.
