DOWNLOADS: (27) PLAYS: (160) One of John Boehner's more childish moments on the House floor tonight, asking Charlie Rangel for assurances on what's going to come out of the Conference Committee in the final bill, and cutting him off before he has a chance to answer him.
House Republican Leader John Boehner did his best to stop the PelosiCare bill from passing. Here’s the video of Mr. Boehner’s statement shortly after the bill was passed. (partial transcript below) I came here to renew the American Dream, so my kids and their kids have the same opportunities I had. I came here to fight [...]
There's no questioning the historic nature of the vote . What the Democrats did to get there is pretty ugly (I can't believe we cut a deal with anti-woman C-Street true believer Bart Stupak), but we did get there, and most people will see some real improvements in their lives as a result. Now it's on to the Senate, where hopefully women's rights won't be treated as peripheral to the political process....
On MTP Republican Governor Haley Barbour is asked about the new, more conservative, direction the Republican party is headed in, and whether Sarah Palin still has a role is in the party. Barbour is happy to defend the GOP, but the Sarah Palin question has him squirming like a schoolboy in the Principal's office. From the Jacksonville Journal Courier , comes this little gem from their "Open Line" section: “The Republican leader John Boehner doesn’t know the difference between the constitution and the Declaration of Independence, he recited one and called it the other. He’s not even smarter than a fifth-grader.” Boehner's performance at Michele Bachmann's sponsored demonstration...
by James Tillman for LifeSiteNews November 6, 2009 - According to House Republican Leader John Boehner, the government-run health care bill being considered in Congress would include "a monthly abortion premium … [to] be charged of all enrollees in the government-run plan." On his blog Boehner states that this premium "will be paid into a U.S. Treasury account – and [...]...
Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele accidentally referred to House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) as "Speaker Boehner" during Sunday's "This Week," and host George Stephanopoulos surprisingly gave the slip of the tongue great attention at ABC News's website: Republican Chairman Michael Steele had a Freudian slip this morning on 'This Week' when he referred...
Republican Chairman Michael Steele had a Freudian slip this morning on 'This Week' when he referred to Minority Leader John Boehner as "Speaker Boehner."
From House Republican Leader John Boehner (R-OH): The Joint Economic Committee (JEC) House Republican staff, which earlier this year created a chart mapping the bureaucratic complexity of Speaker Nancy Pelosi's original health care proposal (H.R. 3200), has combined similar analysis by the House Republican Conference with the earlier chart. The analysis details new additions to the health care bureaucracy...
Little Zack Space decided to vote against the will of his constituents. Zack, instead, voted with Nancy Pelosi and the rest of the very liberal Democrats in the House of Representatives. Good job Zack. Zack is helping bankrupt each and every voter in his district. Estimated added costs to households for just two of the bills that Congress is considering is: Cap and Trade cost per household $1,761 Health...
Well, mark this one down for the history books. I totally wasn't even paying attention but the House's health care bill passed - with a single Republican vote: Moments ago, the House of Representatives passed the Affordable Health Care for America Act by a vote of 220-215 , with one Republican — Rep. Joseph Cao (R-LA) — voting for the measure. Once the bill reached the needed threshold...
Last night was a nightmare come true, as house democrats turned their backs on their base and voted to approve Pelosi’s bullshit healthcare plan. They were goaded on by Obama, who told them, “You don’t want those extremist teabag people to win, do you'” One Republican, Joe Cao, who replaced “Dollar Bill” Jefferson in a democrat [...] Related posts: United States...
What an amazing night for health care. I watched only a little, and then some highlights this morning. I'm sorry to have missed seeing the vote live. It is just the one step. But I feel glad. And vindicated. And I think - I think - that the paper tiger of the Repubs is starting to look frayed. When John Boehner (R-Ohio) went on and on about how terrible it was that the bill had a provision that would...
House Minority Leader John A. Boehner (R-Ohio), gathering his GOP colleagues in a private huddle for a third straight morning, declared that there was no bipartisan compromise on the $700 billion financial rescue effort, despite announcements to the contrary by Democratic Senate and Congressional Leaders... read more
