That’s what we’re learning from Delaware’s 2010 GOP Senate candidate, Mike Castle: This is one of the more surprising polls I’ve seen recently: Delaware Attorney General Beau Biden, son of the vice president, is leading Rep. Mike Castle (R-Del.) in a hypothetical 2010 U.S. Senate matchup. The Susquehanna Polling & Research survey has Biden [...]

The 2010 midterms are just around the corner (sort of). Here's what's happening: Vice President Joe Biden is hitting the trail for vulnerable Democratic Reps. Harry Mitchell (AV), Ann Kirkpatrick (AZ), and Dina Titus (NV); New York Gov. David Paterson (D) trails Attorney General Andrew Cuomo by 59 points in his reelection race, according to Siena; there's some doubt that Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison...

A surprising amount of new polling data as we kick off the new week. Contrary to the past two weeks, some of it is actually good news for Democrats, although there are a couple of brutal polls in there as well for the Blue team. DE-Sen: First Poll of Cycle Gives Biden Lead over Castle The pending "Clash of the Titans" in Delaware between longtime Republican Congressman Mike Castle and state...

Last week, The Hill ran an article claiming "The healthcare battle appears to be helping Republicans running for the Senate," based on "the first major Senate polls since the House passed its healthcare bill on Saturday." But the polls -- one in Ohio and one in Connecticut -- were largely conducted before the vote had even occurred , and none of the candidates polled actually voted...

Some Democrats are already wringing their hands over the 2010 races. If they’re smart, they’ll have a look at what’s happening in Delaware and take heed: Beau Biden jumped 21 points in the polls to overtake incumbent GOP Representative Mike Castle after Castle voted against the House health care reform bill and for the Stupak [...]

A new Susquehanna Polling & Research poll in Delaware finds Attorney General Beau Biden (D) leading Rep. Mike Castle (R) by five points, 45% to 40%. In April, Castle led by 21 points. According to the pollster, the shift "may be a result of negative publicity [Castle] received in the state after casting a 'no' vote for President Obama's health care reform bill in the U.S. Congress."

It’s silly pundits day on Delaware Liberal! The last time we talked about David Broder, he was spewing incorrect information on Mike Castle and the Senate race. I think he should have stuck to less complicated subject like domestic politics but this week he turned his conventional wisdom insights to Afghanistan: The more President [...]

Pen this in on your calendar, Vice President Joe Biden will appear on The Daily Show Tuesday night. Last week we had soon-to-be-retired Congressman Mike Castle on Colbert talking about cocks and this week, Biden will say something stupid as well.

Republicans have to take gain 11 seats in the Senate to regain control of that body. I think a gain of that size last occurred in 1958. So how is it going?
