So now it's even more certain that Inglourious Basterds will wedge its way onto the list of ten Best Picture nominees because all the December releases are falling short...is that it? That's more or less how In Contention's Kris Tapley expressed it over the Thanksgiving holiday in his podcast chat with Anne Thompson. I'm sensing that Quentin Tarantino may have called his agent, Mike Simpson at William...

Recently I became Greensboro, North Carolina's dealer for an American engineered brand of motored bicycles called EZ Motorbikes . Someday I hope to see stock and custom motorized bicycles from EZ Motorbike of Greensboro riding all over town with happy riders enjoying 150 to 200 miles per gallon of regular gas. Another EZ Motorbike dealer is Mike Simpson of Simpson Motor Bikes in Sacramento, California....

The Idaho Conservative Blogger got an audience or at least an e-mail audience with my Congressman Mike Simpson and they asked about a somewhat caustic remark I wrote last month: Well, Simpson is so confident, he’s done the political equivalent of walking out on the battlefield in t-shirt and gym shorts. When he’s back in his [...]

It’s time to do an early comparison of Conservative Congressional Candidate Chick Heileson and Rep. Mike Simpson (R-ID) in the realm of Social Media. Chick Heileson has more than 200 people in Facebook Group. Mike Simpson-um-uh-doesn’t seem to have a Facebook Group. I guess you don’t need a Facebook group if you believe you hold your office by [...]

Note the letter from a panel of economists that says the House health care bill will save money and reduce the deficit. Some discussion of it here . So, Mr. Minnick, really, what is the problem with it? Are you voting against it so you won't disappoint you new BFF Mike Simpson? How about if you just go ahead and switch parties so you can be even closer to him.

You would think for all the blathering from the Republicans about yesterday, you would think something had changed. But you would be wrong. Republicans talk one way, and then once the cameras are off, act in a contrary manner. Yesterday I heard bloviation about how the Republicans are the "party of freedom, of smaller government, of reform." Except they are not. Here's an example. Politico:...

I went to a townhall featuring Republican Congressional Candidate Chuck Heileson, who is challenging Congressman Mike Simpson (Tool of Special Interests-Idaho). What can I say about Heileson’s speech is that it showed a love of the Constitution and a fairly good grasp of it compared to your average politician or your average newspaperman. Heileson’s speech is a [...]

Why not add San Marcos’ This Will Destroy You to that score card? After all, it’s only about a 30 minute drive to the building and bursting of this foursome’s ambient to supernova sound. Their...

While most of the hype for 2009 is for the elections in Virginia and New Jersey, we have several important elections here in Michigan. The first is the 19th State Senatorial District race. Unfortunately, my county/district profiles are severely out of date. This one is up for grabs. The 19th District covers all of Calhoun County, which is slightly democrat leaning in most years, but was won by Bush...

The front page of today's Statesman features quotes from our congressional delegation reacting to President Obama's speech last night. The three Republican members, of course, get in the "government" pejorative. "Government system." Government takeover." Walter-one-note Minnick says he was happy to hear it won't increase the deficit. So, Walt, now that your key point is satisfied,...

Those darn wacky kids! What tomfoolery will they come up with next? Idaho’s Congressmen, Mike Simpson and Walt Minnick appeared side-by-side at City Club of Boise last week, agreeing with one another an awful lot and even joking about who should sit on the right side of the dais. The rare, bipartisan pairing drew a record crowd at the venerable public affairs forum—some 420 people. But,...
