| Description: | A party title distinguished by its support for online play, My Street presents players with a selection of mini-games that can be played by up to four players, online or off. After choosing one of a number of preteen characters or creating a customized child avatar from a selection of parts, players can engage in Story, Play, or Netplay modes. The Story mode introduces players as "The New Kid on the Block," leaving it up to you to make friends with kids in the neighborhood and, of course, ultimately have fun. Before engaging in any pastimes, players will need to acquire specific items or perform certain chores. The Play mode allows players to participate in any of the seven mini-games -- Marbles, Chemistry, RC Racing, Pigs and Chickens, Volleyball, Lawnmowers, and Dodgeball -- with the only requisite being to find the right child to talk to in order to initiate each specific event.Borrowing gameplay styles from familiar titles, such as Puyo Puyo, Ivan Stewart's Super Off Road, and Chu Chu Rocket, the mini-game events will see players engage in tasks such as directing chickens into their pen while guiding pigs into opposing players' by placing directional arrows onto the playfield. Yet another chore-cum-pastime has players racing each other on lawnmowers while avoiding flowerbeds and riding over weeds for bonus points. Analogous to the Play option, Netplay lets players compete online against three other players. Here, players can create and join games against like-minded players, with specific servers defined for players of particular skill levels. No USB keyboard support is offered, but the game provides a virtual keyboard to facilitate communication between players. ~ Gavin Frankle, All Game Guide |
