Description:Japanese developer Nippon Ichi may be best known to North American gamers for its traditionally styled tactical RPGs, released for the PlayStation 2 in the U.S. Phantom Brave is designed to bring a little bit of innovation to the studio's mastered genre, however, by freeing the player from conventions such as isometric battlefields and rigid movement gridlines. Characters can be moved freely around the organically layered battlefields of Phantom Brave, to compete in classic, turnbased battles of magic and melee. The game follows the story of Marona, an orphaned girl who had lived by herself on a strange island full of spirits and phantoms.
