Bill London writes in yesterday’s Moscow-Pullman Daily News : Bill Sali did it again. Sali, the Republican congressional representative for northern Idaho, just sent us another campaign letter. And as usual, he charged us (the taxpayers) with the postage. Sali could pass on the mailing costs to us since he tried to disguise the letter as a request for our opinions...

I'm surprised no one has written about this yet. Evidently Bill Sali's campaign has yet to file their quarterly FEC report . They're now over a week late on that (it was due 15 July). According to Sali's spokesman Wayne Hoffman, this is due to "technical glitches." As treasurer for Debbie Holmes' campaign in the 2nd CD - which is subject to the exact same reporting requirements...

From the FRC : Recently in a Special Orders session, Bill Sali exposed the fact that U.S. taxpayers are subsidizing the abortion industry to the tune of several hundred million dollars each year. Although polls continually show that the majority of Americans oppose government funding of abortions, organizations that promote and perform abortions get large sums of taxpayer money in the...

... Congress and now as Governor. Idahoans didn't buy the attacks. So, now the D's are at it, agaisnt Bill Sali. It's not gonna work on this side of the aisle either. The DCC has announced it may pour almost $400K into a Beat-Up-Bill media buy. This is ludicrous, even by Belt-Way standards. Why? First, many, many Idahoans love that certain "Helen Chenoweth/Bill Sali"...

Rep. Paul Braun (R-GA), one of the candidates on My Slatecard is almost certainly on his way back to Washington after a 71-29% victory in the Republican Primary in a solid Red district. Braun applies a four-fold test to legislation, “Is it constitutional and a proper function of government? Is it morally correct? Is it something [...]

Does anyone remember this? Two years ago this was the rallying cry of the Democrats in Idaho, their nominee for Governor, Jerry Brady in particular shouted the phrase. And it was used against Bill Sali, then a Candiate for Congress who received support from economic conservatives around the country through Club for Growth. Back then Idaho liberals were [...]

My congressman, Bill Sali, is in the news again this week, for a couple of things. Idaho evangelical leader Bryan Fischer reports that the Family Resource Council on Wednesday thanked Congressman Sali for "exposing" taxpayer subsidies of Planned Parenthood. The "exposure" seemingly happened during a special orders speech in front of about 10 people on the House floor earlier this...

Idaho's Teflon Congressman 7/21/2008 A few days back, I attached the less-than-original nickname "Teflon" to our 2nd District congressman, Mike Simpson. Here's why. Fellow Republican Rep. Bill Sali is facing a heated race for a second term, with his votes coming under close scrutiny. Not so with Simpson, seeking a sixth term. We saw another case in point Thursday: Sali got drilled...

In response to my post about how I wasn't a big fan of my Congressman, Bill Sali, a reader wrote and pointed out that it's more helpful to be positive in politics than negative. I agree. In November, rather than simply casting a vote against Bill Sali, I'll be voting for Walt Minnick . A successful businessman and Army veteran, Walt is a fiscal conservative and social moderate....

I wrote about the Walt Minnick (D) - Bill Sali(R) race before . And it didn’t seem to be on anyone’s radar but mine. Until now. “Conventional Wisdom” said “SAFE REPUBLICAN SEAT”. But now, Cook has it as contested. (subscription required.) Walt Minnick raised almost $650,000 dollars in the second quarter ( April – May / May – June ). We’d look at Sali’s money, but they missed the...
