Standing at history’s door

| August 21st, 2008 | Everyone who knows me also knows that I’m a HUGE history dork. I love it. Every bit of it.So, I’m sure you can imagine just how cool I thought it was when I arrived at the Washington Hilton this morning. Who can tell me what happened at the Washington Hilton in 1981?It was in March. It’s where Jim Brady died. The main target’s last name began with the letter “R.”Yeah… Reagan’s...

Kay Hagan was, aside from Merkley, the most-supported challenger in a competitive primary. Hagan was in a very similar situation, running as a a prominent member of the Legislature--she was in her fifth state Senate term, and ran a campaign rather to the right of that being run by investment banker Jim Neal, who had entered the race first (although by less than a month). Why I supported Jim Neal

That is a main reason I supported Jim Neal in the primary. Jim Neal was an inspiring speaker and actually answered questions. He also wasn't afraid to admit when he was wrong. Kay Hagan seems like a typical politician with "canned answers." She needs to be more candid and informal. I respect people much more when they speak a little off-the-cuff.
