Asafa Powell is back in training after a chest injury which put him on the sidelines for two weeks. Asafa Powell holds the world record for the mens 100 meters which he set last year. Fellow countryman Usain Bolt set the second fastest time just last week. The two sprinters are expected to go head to head at Jamaica’s national championships next month.

The former 100-meter world-record holder is to be sentenced May 16 in a New York-based check-kiting conspiracy. Montgomery pleaded guilty in that case, admitting he helped his former coach, Olympic champion Steve Riddick, and others cash $1.7 million in stolen and counterfeit checks. He faces up to 46 months in prison.
