The final stretch of the Des Moines Marathon was delayed Sunday by a train . Leader Simon Sawe lost his 10-second lead as he waited nearly a minute for it to pass, and he and David Tuwei finished the 26.2-mile race as a 400 meter sprint. Sawe, a former 1,500-meter runner, won by five seconds. "It was a long train," he said.

The leaders in the Des Moines Marathon could see the finish line — they just had to wait a bit.
