I am not talking today about a plan for peace in the Middle East, or missile shields in Eurasia, or a way to fix the trade deficit. No, the plan I will be revealing over the next few days is much more expansive…much more improbable…but just as important! The plan I propose today is a roadmap for victory in the MLB. Today I take up the cause of my recently hapless New York Mets …the...

Ted Lilly underwent surgery on his throwing shoulder, and will probably miss the first few weeks of the 2010 season. Not good for the Cubs, who have questions inside their rotation. Marty Noble of MLB.com believes the Mets don’t have roon for Carlos Delgado, and the only front office member who wants him back is Omar Minaya. [...]

On July 27, 2002, Omar Minaya, then General Manager of the Montreal Expos, traded Lee Steven, Brandon Phillips , Grady Sizemore , and Cliff Lee to Mark Shapiro's Indians for Bartolo Colon and Tim Drew . In 2002, Major League Baseball owned the Expos. The offseason before, the Expos had narrowly avoided contraction, because the Twins , the other team in line for contraction, had another year on their...

I know baseball is a business and money talks but are the Mets really good enough to schmooze things over with Yorvit Torrealba. Just early this month when discussing his pending grievance the catcher made it sound personal, that he felt he had a deal in place and that he was up set over Minaya speaking to his family raising their expectations only to pull the rug out from under them. Torrealba filed...

The Phillies defeated the Yankees last night, tying the World Series at one game each. …i would love to know what is going through the minds of Jeff Wilpon and Omar Minaya when seeing these two teams on the same field, in October, and with, of all people, Pedro Martinez on the mound, while the Mets [...]

I'm not really sure why the Wilpon's decided to keep Omar Minaya, is it really his contract extension which equates to little more then what Alex Cora would make in a season or do they want a figure head who could easily become a sacrificial lamb if things go bad. It makes sense from Omar prospective to return, he has nothing to lose since his reputation is at an all time low, returning regardless...

From Larry Walker to John Wetteland to Pedro Martinez, Montreal Expos talent seemed to head south as quickly as the club could develop it. By 2002, it seemed possible that the Expos were playing their final season in Montreal and the threat of contraction put the organization's future in jeopardy. So they surprised some people when they acquired an All-Star caliber player mid-way through the 2002 season....

Let us set the stage... The Montreal Expos are in disarray, they are owned by Major League baseball and there have been ample talks about contracting both them and the Minnesota Twins. The Expos find themselves in the Wild Card race with the opportunity to add Bartolo Colon, one of the best pitchers in baseball, who also happens to be in the 2nd to last year of his contract. Colon with the Indians...

There was a time that Brian Schneider was an agile receiver with a great glove, strong arm, and the added bonus of some pop in his bat.
