The Mets still haven't settled their coaching staff, originally it was reported that Razor Shines would no longer be the 3B coach but he'd have a role somewhere on the team. But with Alomar Jr. moving to 1B, Chip Hale coming in at 3B and the Mets apparently seeking a new bench coach, that leaves Shines as the fifth coach which is usually the catching coach for teams that carry five. If Shines gets...

After starting 12-17 the Arizona Diamondbacks fired their manger Bob Melvin, while that was probably the right move, their season may have already been lost. In fact since winning 90 games in 2007 this team has seen their victories drop by 10 a year that is a very bad trend that needs to be fixed [...]

I'm not really sure why the Wilpon's decided to keep Omar Minaya, is it really his contract extension which equates to little more then what Alex Cora would make in a season or do they want a figure head who could easily become a sacrificial lamb if things go bad. It makes sense from Omar prospective to return, he has nothing to lose since his reputation is at an all time low, returning regardless...

I said from the beginning that there was no right answer in this search for a new manager. Manny Acta would have been terrific, but then so would Phil Garner, Bob Melvin, Tim Bogar, Jim Fregosi and a dozen or so others. But the...
