Every starter for the O's since 2007, with number of starts in parentheses. Only Guthrie has survived. 2010 is the list of starters currently in the O's system who could make the rotation at some point. I didn't include Koji or Hendo as they'll hopefully be in the bullpen the entire year. One thing I'll say for the O's in 2009 is they cut down on the slop ( Adam Eaton excepted). 2007 Baltimore Orioles...
As we remember the men and women that served our country for so many years, we pay special thanks to the men (and sometimes women....Adam Eaton, David Bell, Ricky Jordan) that served our televisions and radios from 1971-2003. In paying thanks we will do a countdown of the five greatest moments of all time at the Vet: #5-June 11th, 1985 Phillies defeated the New York Mets 26-7. Most runs scored by the...
Here goes: 1. Brett Myers will not be back with the team. According to this report in the Philadelphia Inquirer , the never-dull righty will not be offered a contract. There could be many reasons for this -- that the Phillies have doubts about his health, his maturity, clubhouse chemistry, or his ability to pitch consistently. This would have been more of a surprise had Myers not had a dust up with...
We all have fond memories of the 2009 baseball season for our Phillies. Over the next few days I will be sharing some of my fondest memories of the season. We all have our own moments that stand out and many of us will share the same fond memories. Feel free to share yours in the comments section below. Championship rings and a remarkable comeback The season did not start well for the 2008 world champions...
Adam Eaton, Philadelphia Phillies: We always thought it would be impossible to find a bigger waste of money than Eaton’s contract. And yet, here we are. (Found by John W. at Game 4 of the World Series.)

According to MLB.com, the Rockies designated right-hander Adam Eaton for assignment in order to clear 40-man roster space for infielder Mike McCoy. Eaton, 31, posted a 5.63 ERA in eight innings of relief for the Rockies back in August shortly after inking a minor league deal. He was also released by the Orioles earlier this season and will finish the 2009 campaign with an 8.08 ERA in 49 innings (eight...

The Phillies have lost three straight games to the lowly Houston Astros , so forgive me for pouring salt on the wounds. The Florida Marlins lost today which means the magic number finally goes from 22 to 21. None other than Adam Eaton wore the number 21. He also wore #23 at times, but today it just seems fitting to have Eaton give us the current magic number.
Tacoma 6, Colorado Springs 4 Adam Eaton allowed four runs on six hits and three walks in six innings, and Scott Munter failed to minimize the damage in just under two innings of work and as a result, the Sky Sox fell to Tacoma and also fell into a tie with the Rainiers for first place in the Pacific Coast League's Pacific North division. Eaton struck out six batters in the game, but allowed a big two...

Phillies’ closer Brad Lidge successfully converted his ninth blown save of the season Tuesday night in Pittsburgh, serving up a two-run walk-off home run to rookie Andrew McCutchen. The man once known as “Lights Out” was anything but, illuminating PNC Park with an impressive five-pitch, three-earned run performance. Despite Manager Charlie ...

In 2001, the Giants didn't make the playoffs for a lot of reasons. The starting pitching was inconsistent, there was a revolving black hole at third base, and Barry Bonds was only on base 52% of the time. The team won 90 games, but it was a bitter finish. And I spent the entire season worrying about the Padres. The Padres didn't even finish above .500, but their organizational depth chart woke me up...
ABC Sports - Two years ago the Colorado Rockies used an incredible September run to reach the playoffs. This time, they're not waiting until the final two weeks of the regular season to make their push. Ryan Spilborghs hit a grand slam in the bottom of the 14th inning, giving the Rockies a come-from-behind 6-4 victory over the San Francisco Giants on Monday night. In 2007 the Rockies had plenty of...
