The Reds lost to the Cubs 5-2, to finish 4-6 on their road trip. The loss mathematically elimiated the Reds from the NL Central race. It was also the first time Ted Lilly had beaten the Reds in Wrigley Field. It was actually 5-0 going into the 9th, when Drew Stubbs hit a single to bring home Darnell McDonald and Adam Rosales. Yes, this means McDonald started instead of Wladimir Balentien again. And...

Arroyo gave up one run on nine hits in eight innings with one walk and five strikeouts. Nick Masset pitched a scoreless 9th. The Reds two hits were a double by Drew Stubbs, his first major league hit in his major league debut, and a single by Adam Rosales. The...

Drew Sutton hit his first major league home run, so not all the news was bad. Most of it was, and the Reds lost 10-6 after trailing 10-1. Johnny Cueto was charged with seven runs and eight hits in 2 2/3 innings. It wasn't a good start. Kip Wells did the mop-up thing and and gave up three runs in four innings. Danny Herrera pitched 1 1/3 scoreless innings, and Jared Burton pitched a scoreless inning....
