3 more taken off the 40 man roster (Scott Lewis is one) Today the Indians outrighted left-handed pitcher Mike Gosling, left-handed pitcher Scott Lewis, and infielder Niuman Romero to Triple-A Columbus. The 40-man roster is now at 33 players, though right-handed pitcher Jake Westbrook and right-handed pitcher Anthony Reyes are still not included as they are still on the 60-day disabled list. But, it's calculated by count, relative to the league average and weighted (by the number of takes in that count against the...

While some of us had some pretty high hopes for Anthony Reyes’ 2009 campaign, all of us will have to await to see if he will ever amount to any impact after Indians trainer Lonnie Soloff announced that the flat-brimmed starter will in fact have ulnar nerve transposition surgery, effectively ending his season. For good measure, [...]

Anthony Reyes will undergo an ulnar nerve transposition operation on Friday, with Tommy John surgery also a possibility. Dr. Lewis Yocum will perform the surgery, and he'll perform the Tommy John if he discovers that Reyes needs to have the ligament replaced. With just the nerve transposition surgery, Reyes would miss four-to-six months. Either way, he's done for the season.
