The 2009 minor league free agent lis t is littered with former top prospects and number one picks. Some of these names should sound familiar; Josh Barfield , Bobby Brownlie , Chad Cordero , Eric Duncan , Clint Everts , Ryan Harvey , Dallas McPherson , Greg Miller and several notable others are all free agents this year. As Dave Cameron over at Fangraphs pointed out, even former top catching prospect...

Well in game 3 Gwinnett managed to get some offense and at the very least take one game in the series. On the day that he was named Baseball America's Minor League Player of the Year, Jason Heyward was a big factor in the game. He had a 2 run single in the 3rd inning (which saw the Braves score 5). He also walked 3 times and scored 3 runs to go along with a K. Not a bad outing at all. Diory Hernandez...

The Gwinnett Braves fall to 0-2 in the series against Scranton, as they turn around and hit the road for the rest of the series, continuing tomorrow night. Gwinnett was pretty much shut down on offense for the second straight night, this time by Ivan Nova (granted, that is an awesome name). Nova wasn't really effective in his 12 starts in the International League, but he found ways to get the Braves...

Someone was asking about playoff chances for the various minor league clubs. I'll get into that tonight in the recaps. Rochester 4, Gwinnett 2 C. Burke 2-4 2B, HR(3), BB B. Conrad 1-2 2BB Tim Hudson was scheduled to start this game buy left before throwing a pitch due to apparent groin soreness. As long as his arm didn't fall off I'm cool with it. Out of all our full season teams, Gwinnett has the...

The only runs he allowed were two solo homers in the 4th and 5th innings. Some of us were talking about this a couple weeks back, if you are going to make a mistake, make it when there is no one on base. Outside...

Norfolk 3, Gwinnett 2 B. Jones 2-3 RBI B. Canizares 2-3 BB B. Brownlie 6IP 4H 1R 1BB 3K A really nice start from the recent pick up Bobby Brownlie , but the normally good Gwinnett bullpen couldn't hold the lead for him. Barbaro Canizares and Brandon Jones were about the only offense the Braves could muster out of any part of the lineup. Jacksonville 6, Mississippi 8 M. Young 2-4 BB, SB(25) J. Heyward...
