Add Paulino's name to the growing list of catchers...

One thing is for sure, the Mets will be able to find a catcher this off-season. On the trade front, rumored to be available are Kelly Shoppach, John Buck, Chris Snyder, Ryan Doumit, Gerald Laird and Brandon Inge ( if you consider him a catcher ). If the team is unwilling to give up pieces for a catcher then they can sign Bengie Molina, Rob Barajas, Yorvit Torrealba or one of about 10 other free agent...

Let's wait on Jonathan Lucroy

by Darren Hauck - AP Jason Kendall's ability to get hit by pitches isn't a good enough reason to bring him back for 2010, at any price. View full size photo » All of a sudden, after two years of sticking with Jason Kendall , the Brewers look like they're ready to make a move behind the plate. Frankly, it's about time. Earlier this week, Doug Melvin told Arn Tellem (who represents Jason Kendall)...

Diamondbacks Will Consider Multi-Year Pitching Options

The Arizona Diamondbacks will consider making multi-year offers when they look at this year's pitching free agent class, according to Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic. Although Piecoro notes that GM Josh Byrnes has previously been reluctant to pursue free agent pitching, he writes that Byrnes could go that route this year. The free agent market looks particularly appealing given the Diamondbacks'...

Buzz: Lyle Overbay is Everywhere

Ken Rosenthal of FoxSports.com believes the Blue Jays and Mariners have discussed sending 1B Lyle Overbay to Seattle. Earlier this week, Rosenthal said the Mets approached the Blue Jays about acquiring Overbay as part of a three-way sending Luis Castillo to the Cubs. According to MLB.com, last month, the D’Backs and Blue Jays discussed swapping Overbay for C Chris Snyder, [...]

Blue Jays, Mariners Discuss Overbay Trade

The Blue Jays and Mariners have discussed a deal involving first baseman Lyle Overbay, according to Ken Rosenthal and Jon Paul Morosi of FOX Sports. Buzz: The Mets are Trying to move Luis Castillo

Joel Sherman of the New York Post believes the Mets approached the D’Backs about swapping 2B Luis Castillo for C Chris Snyder, “but that initial foray proved unsuccessful.” Snyder, who hit 16 HR in 2008, but missed 100 games due to back surgery in 2009, will earn at least $11.5 million over the next two seasons, after [...]

Still Here.......For Now!

This Blue Jay was on the verge of going back to the team he began his major league career with. He's the subject of our POTD . Lyle Overbay bats against the Twins at the Rogers Centre September 7th. Another possible trade that could impact the Mets..

The D-Backs and Blue Jays are discussing a trade in which the Jays would receive C Chris Snyder while the D-Backs would obtain 1B Lyle Overbay. If the trade goes through the Jays would have their catcher and would no longer be looking at Rod Barajas. The Mets have supposedly have targeted Rod Barajas as their primary target for their vacant position. Barajas hit 21 HRs last year, which I'm sure is...
