Greg Dobbs Review: Dobbs had an absolute great season for the '08 Fightins. He put up solid numbers, .301-9-40, with his greatest contributions coming off of the bench and late in games. Dobbs was true threat off of the bench, breaking the Phillies all-time record for pinch-hits in a season. Memorable Moment: I can't think of anything. A little help... Preview: Dobbs only made $440k last season and...

THE PHILLIES WERE missing one of their key offensive weapons last night thanks to baseball's screwy rules. They use a designated hitter in games in the American League city, which meant starting pitcher Brett Myers and his .800 postseason batting average were not in the lineup. Greg Dobbs was used as DH instead.

Top of the second, and the Phillies put runners on second and third, nobody out. Down goes Shane Victorino on a pop-up, Greg Dobbs on a strikeout, and Pedro Feliz on a lineout. Really, we could choose any number of missed chances for Philly. This one just stuck out.

The Phillies are in the World Series for the first time since 1993. Here are four members of the Phillies I'll be pulling for in the Fall Classic. Infielder/Pinch hitter Greg Dobbs . Dobbs was a member of the 2002 Timber Rattlers. Catcher Chris Coste . Coste played for the Fargo-Moorhead Red Hawks when I was a radio announcer for the Duluth-Superior Dukes in the old Northern League. General Manager...

Greg Dobbs didn't see much action when he was employed by the Mariners from 2004-06. He received just 222 at-bats during that span, the most notable of which was his first. Pinch hitting for Jose Lopez, Dobbs hit a home run off of Cleveland's Bob Wickman in the ninth inning at Safeco Field. Three years later, on Jan. 15, 2007, the Mariners waived Dobbs, who was claimed by the Phillies, who take a 3-1...
