The Major League baseball site is a bit slow updating their Winter Leagues pages, especially the roster pages, but on the ones that are updated I've been able to find quite a few Atlanta Braves players and prospects competing this off-season in fall and winter leagues. In the Mexican Winter League, which starts today , the Braves have four prospects representing Atlanta, pitchers Brett Butts and Tim...

Brian Barton cleared waivers and was outrighted to Gwinnett. This opened a 40-man spot for Tim Hudson. Braves roster movement I wonder if this was the delay in possibly recalling Gregor Blanco. Not that he's an impact bat or anything, but he is likely a better option in center field than anything else we have.

(Observer News Services) The Charlotte Knights' four-game winning streak over Gwinnett ended Friday in a 4-1 loss in front of 6,268 fans at Knights Stadium. Charlotte had won two at Gwinnet this week and opened the three-game series at home with two wins. The Knights struck first with DeWayne Wise's RBI single to left field that scored Stefan Gartrell. Charlotte would hold that lead until things unraveled...

Gregor Blanco broke out of his slump (0 hits in his last 7 games; and to think we might have had him in CF full time earlier this year) with a couple of hits. Barbaro Canizares has seen...

Gregor Blanco and Martin Prado weren’t supposed to be in the Braves’ lineup. Due to injuries, they were given an opportunity to start and they did not disappoint. They went a combined 7-for-10 with four runs batted in, a walk, and three runs scored. Prado and Blanco’s performances were the opposite of Jimmy Rollins’, who received [...]
