The voting results for the 2009 Fielding Bible Awards have been released, and Jack Wilson , Ichiro, and Franklin Gutierrez claimed 33% of the electronic hardware, with both Adrian Beltre and Jack Hannahan finishing as runners-up at third base. This is about as significant as the Kids Choice Awards, with the only real difference being that most of the Mariners have probably heard of the Kids Choice...

Coming off a 101-loss season a year ago, a lot of fans wanted to blow things up and start over. Horrible teams are always met with calls to tear down and rebuild in the winter, and a good number of people wanted to trade all the veterans for prospects so that the Mariners might find themselves in decent position come 2013 or so. The front office, however, chose a different path, coming out and saying...

Update 7:19 p.m. (bottom of first): Jose Lopez just jacked one to left with Jack Hannahan aboard for his 19th homer. Lopez now has 78 RBI, putting him on pace for 99. A 100-RBI season is a distinct possibility, which would be a nice accomplishment for a second baseman. 2-0 Mariners.

Brandon Inge doesn't want to hear this talk of Aubrey Huff playing some third base . And if he has to do weird things like getting glucose injected into his knee in an attempt to stimulate healing, well, that's how serious he is about this. Although when Inge had trouble legging out that double play in the fourth inning of last night's game, he looked like a guy that needs to rest that knee once or...
