The Changing of the O's

2007 - Pre-MacPhail. 2010 - Based solely on current players. How much have we improved, really? Discuss. Is it fair to say that the only position where the 2010 Orioles are worse off than the 2007 Orioles is shortstop? All lineups are based on who played that most games at that position in each year. 2007 Baltimore Orioles 2008 Baltimore Orioles 2009 Baltimore Orioles 2010 Baltimore Orioles C: Ramon...

A Preliminary Look at the 2010 AL East Offenses - Part 3

In Part 1 I drooled over Matt Wieters , in Part 2 I went into fantasyland , and here in Part 3 I will bask in the talent of the Orioles outfield. It's hardly news to anyone here that the Orioles outfield is one of the most...

While Pedro pitched well enough down the stretch (3.63 ERA, 37/8 K/BB ratio) and put on a respectable showing overall in the postseason (3.71 ERA, 16 K in 17 IP), I have to wonder if it's just time for him to hang it up while he can go out...

Hey, Angels Fans: Andre Ethier Is A Dodger

... and you should be grateful. AN deputy blogger baseballgirl is wistful : We remember Milton Bradley for all of his dramatic moments during the season and the playoffs, and it has been widely accepted that he lead the A's to their postseason berth, but the numbers simply don't bear that out. Bradley only played in 96 games in 2006, hitting .276 with 14 home runs (one very dramatic one on AN Day),...

These Are A Few Of My Favorite Things

I've maintained a degree of anonymity since I began blogging four years ago. But I've dropped a few hints of things I like, other than the Mets. Such as... I am a Man Who Likes His Tidbits Ever since I was little, I've had the ability to discover and recall the most unusual bits of information. My brain is compartmentalized such that I find these nuggets fascinating and store them away in the deepest...

Michael Silverman of the Boston Herald has a few new Red Sox rumors: The Sox are not interested in Jay Payton or any Craig Landis client (he also reps Jon Garland). They're also not in on So Taguchi. Josh Bard could be a Plan B or C at catcher. Ronny Paulino has also been discussed.
