However, what we witnessed this weekend shows where the real band-box is. 58 runs were scored in Fenway Park in three games. And we weren't watching bad pitchers either ( Brad Penny notwithstanding)....

Game ending back-to-back home runs The Marlins beat the Cubs 3-2 Sunday on a pair of rare home runs. With Florida trailing 2-1, Dan Uggla and Cody Ross hit back-to-back home runs off Chicago's Kevin Gregg. The last time the Marlins hit back-to-back home runs to end a game was Sept. 21, 1996, when Jeff Conine and Devon White did it against Houston's Billy Wagner.

Successful trades for second-tier players have been scarce during this timeframe, although trades involving throw-ins John Maine and Oliver Perez worked out reasonably well . I saw a post over at Brew Crew Ball , which...

Omar doesn't want to part with many of his prospects, so I'm starting to get the feeling, guys like DeRosa, Dunn and Huff will be moved but to other teams. Instead we maybe looking at a deal which brings in a change of scenery guy, who doesn't cost much and the organization hopes thrives from the trade. Garrrett Atkins appears to be just that type of player, in Colorado he is having a miserable year...
