The Tigers kicked off the off-season by announcing several moves today. The biggest one being the removal of Marcus Thames from the 40 man roster. Catcher Matt Treanor, who spent most of the season on the disabled list after undergoing hip surgery, was also taken of the roster. Both will become free agents. As already mentioned in the comments of our last post, (and reported by Jason Beck ), Don Kelly has been added to the Tigers ' roster. He was called up from Triple-A Toledo along with Armando Galarraga , who's recovered from his elbow inflammation and will start tonight for Jarrod Washburn . The Tigers purchased the contract of Don Kelly. We’ll see if this will prompt Jim Leyland to give Brandon Inge some rest. Jeff Larish was added to the 60 day DL to free up the spot on the 40 man roster.
