This might be an interesting off-day discussion topic: what's been your biggest mistake as a Royals fan? Many of us have been quite critical of the Royals this season, so maybe it's only fair that we also come forward with all the times that we were wrong about what we thought. No, it isn't the same of course, at least not until we also start getting paid full time to make baseball decisions, complete...
Paul Hoynes of the Cleveland Plain Dealer says that the Indians are not interested in signing BJ Ryan even though they nearly signed him four years ago. Instead, Hoynes says the Indians are interested in Jimmy Gobble, who was just designated for assignment by the White Sox. If the Indians do acquire Gobble, Hoynes says the lefty would be assigned to AAA. Gobble allowed 14 hits and seven walks in 12...
White Sox 10, Indians 6: Paul Konerko hit a career-high three home runs and drove in a career-high seven RBIs, capped off by a go-ahead grand slam in the sixth inning. All-Star Mark Buehrle won his third straight, improving to 9-2. On a rather down note, Jimmy Gobble, destined for a witty Thanksgiving joke by [...]

More photos » by ED ZURGA - AP Jermaine Dye is clearly not an All-Star. Browse more photos » Yesterday, I wrote that Ozzie Guillen needed to have a swifter hook with Gavin Floyd , citing a rested bullpen and a clearly laboring Floyd. Today, Ozzie yanked Clayton Richard after just 3.2 innings, yet he seemed to be the victim of bad luck more than bad pitching. Richard wasn't getting hit extraordinarily...
More photos » by ED ZURGA - AP Browse more photos » The White Sox seemed poised to run their winning streak to 8-games holding an early lead against a beleaguered division punching bag. Oops. Gavin Floyd blew through the first inning with ease, but it was clear he didn't have it after that. Ozzie Guillen seemed slow to notice thanks to the Royals doing their thing, keeping runners off the...
Juan Pierre got plunked on the back by Jimmy Gobble in the eighth inning tonight. Moments later, he was smiling at first base. So now we know what it takes to get a smile from Pierre.
More photos » by Jim Prisching - AP Mark Buehrle will never let anyone forget about this moment. Browse more photos » Lots of moving parts in this one Mark Buehrle homers Jimmy Gobble pitches in a high leverage situation -- which actually isn't as bad as it sounds as long as he only faces lefties. Jim Thome tries to lay down a bunt multiple times, draws walk which is eventual winning run...
It's been a while since I've posted here due to business related issues at hand including haggling for days on end to get a new car but I've been to four of the last five Chicago White Sox games so I have some interesting tidbits to throw out there. First off, I looked at Aaron Poreda's Facebook page at 2:30 A.M. today to find that he had been called up to pitch for the big league team. Now, I wasn't...

Twins 20, White Sox 1: While Peavy mulled a trade to the south side of Chicago, the compassionate trio of Bartolo Colón, Lance Broadway and Jimmy Gobble combined for 19 hits and 20 runs over 6 1/3 innings, giving the Twins a much needed win after losing six straight. Padres 3, Giants 2: Speaking of Peavy, [...]
