Meant to mention this earlier but, oh well, the news is the same. Luis Ayala decided he could do better on his own . On Saturday, Ayala was outrighted and he opted for free agency. --- Ayala appeared in 10 games for the Marlins , and he threw 7 2/3 innings. He struggled, posting an 0-3 record with an 11.74 ERA. He opened the season with the Twins , appearing in 28 games while tossing 32 1/3 innings....

Josh Thole is finally here. That is nice. To be fair, the Mets have a few young guys to be excited about based on their performance this year: Thole and Ike Davis. Juan C. Rodriguez of The Sun Sentinel tweets that the Marlins have designated reliever Luis Ayala for assignment to make room on the roster for Cameron Maybin. Ayala had a bloated 11.74 ERA in 10 appearances for the Marlins, but a much more tolerable 4.18 ERA in 32.1 IP for the Twins earlier in the year.
