As of last Friday, Manny Ramirez is expected to remain a member of the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2010, as the 37 year-old outfielder will not exercise the escape clause in the two-year, $45-million contract he signed last spring according to his agent Scott Boras. Last season, Ramirez hit .290 with 19 home runs and [...]

It's not hard to tell when Manny's unhappy. And a year and a half ago, Manny had had enough. He wanted out of Boston and it wasn't long before he pushed the team's traveling secretary over and told ESPNDeportes "the Red Sox don't deserve a player like me." So it was hardly surprising that Theo Epstein dealt Manny Ramirez on July 31st, 2008. But it looked as though Manny was headed to the...

With all the controversy surrounding weather to bring back Johnny Damon or Hideki Matsui, many fans have brought up the idea of signing outfielders Matt Holliday or Jason Bay. To me, when you win a championship, you shouldn't really try to change your team all that much, unless there's a guy like Mark Teixeira or CC Sabathia out there on the market, which this year, there isn't. The top pitcher on...

Last week I recommended Garrett Atkins for a spot on our team , a possible upgrade over Fernando Tatis as the back-up corner infielder who might end up beating out Dan Murphy at 1B. Most of the people I spoke to about the idea either liked it or weren't against but were leery of his cost. That appears to be the same issue the Rockies are running into, apparently Atkins is to expensive going into arbitration...

Because the Dodgers outfield situation could impact the Mets in several different ways, I wanted to recap several points of interest that have occurred the last 24 hours. The biggest item is Manny Ramirez will exercises his 20M player option and return to the Dodgers for the 2010 season ( source LA Times ). Not only is Ramirez out of the mix for the Mets left field job but he has also more then likely...

In what wasn't much of a surprising move, Los Angeles Dodgers leftfielder Manny Ramirez has decided to exercise his player option for 2010 and will return to the Dodgers next season. His agent Scott Boras let Dodgers general manager Ned Colletti know about Ramirez's decision on Friday night. All of which means that Ramirez will make $20 million with the Dodgers rather than becoming a free agent
