I always hate reporting this kind of news, especially when there isn't a replacement director yet. It all just feels so hopeless. Last month we reported that Tommy Lee Jones would be directing and co-starring in The Lincoln Lawyer, a legal thriller based on Michael Connolly's 2005 novel. However, Variety reports tonight that Jones has left the project "over creative differences on the script."...
LAPD Detective Harry Bosch is back in Michael Connolly's latest, Nine Dragons , and he is as intense as ever. While investigating a robbery and murder in a liquor store, Harry and his partner Ignacio Ferras that the crime may be linked to a Chinese triad extorting money from small business owners. With a suspect in custody, Harry receives a video message from his teenage daughter Madeline, showing...
Lee Shipman and Brian McGreevy's original script Once Upon a Time in Hell has sold to Phoenix Pictures, says The Hollywood Reporter . Based on Alexandre Dumas' classic revenge tale "The Count of Monte Cristo," the project updates the story to modern London's organized crime underworld. David Thwaites and Mike Medavoy of Phoenix are producing along with Michael Connolly of Mad Hatter Entertainment....
Short Story Sunday for RIP IV is playing double duty this week! I'm finally reviewing a whole book of short stories. I seem to be ripping through shortish children's and adolescent novels at the moment, and this one was the perfect addition to my RIP reading after yesterday's Pretty Dead . Half-Minute Horrors is a collection of super-short stories edited by Susan Rich. Some of the authors included...
Tommy Lee Jones is in talks to direct and co-star alongside Matthew McConaughey in Lakeshore Entertainment's "The Lincoln Lawyer," a thriller based on the novel by Michael Connolly. The story sounds pretty cool. The film follows a Los Angeles lawyer who works out of the back of his Lincoln and picks up his biggest case yet when he agrees to defend a Beverly Hills playboy accused of murder....

Tommy Lee Jones has had a pretty fruitful acting career, but more recently he has taken a turn towards work behind the camera. In 2005 he made his feature directorial debut with the western crime-drama The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada. While I haven't gotten the chance to see it yet, a 7.6 IMDB rating and an 84% on Rotten Tomatoes makes it look like it was a solid debut in the director's chair....
“ Kevin Connolly has used an unusual physical circumstance to create a gripping work of art. This deeply affecting memoir will place him in the company of Jeanette Walls and Augusten Burroughs.” ~ Sara Gruen, author of Water for Elephants

London: Simon and Schuster, 2009. I loved this book. I'm a fan of Mark Radcliffe...

Sacramento's Mexican Consulate served up a smorgasbord of services to hundreds of Mexican immigrants Monday. The immigrants, most of whom came for Mexican passports and consular identification cards, got advice on how to ensure they get paid and treated fairly on the job. The consulate one of the nation's busiest, serving 800,000 immigrants from Modesto to the Oregon border is hosting...
... on a lovely sunny afternoon in summer. Just as well I didn't need that pattern, then - I was still garter-stitching on the Wool Peddler Shawl at that point while reading Michael Connolly's The Scarecrow... It all got a bit ugly when I started in on the lace...
I luv Gwyneth Paltrow :-) She has the best website in things to make and do and stuff. And she likes The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas! Luv Alexandre Dumas. The Black Echo by Michael Connolly is recommended , hmm. I always see his books in the book store. ...
I "discovered" Michael Connolly about 2 years ago. Not really, he's been writing for more than 15 years, but I stumbled across one of his books, Chasing the Dime and was immediately hooked. Not only did I enjoy the story in general, but Connolly's style is right up my alley, and I've found this to be true with all of his books I've read since. The narratives are plot driven without a lot...

Chicago, IL – (April 9, 2009) – In the past two weeks, the nation has been shocked by three cases of domestic violence ending in the deaths of innocent children. Two weeks ago, two Illinois boys and their father, Michael Connolly, were found dead in an apparent case of murder-suicide. Last week, James Harrison, a [...]
