Miguel Cabrera had a fantastic season (although not MVP-worthy, with all due respect to my Japanese media colleague) for the Tigers. He had a .942 OPS, hit 34 homers and scored 96 runs. He's also only 26. There are assorted...

A couple of items for your perusal. With talks between the Mariners and Tigers on the Curtis Granderson/Edwin Jackson front said to be stalled and a deal "pretty doubtful" (according to ESPN's Jerry Crasnick's sources), a new Tigers name is now said to be on the trading block: Miguel Cabrera, he of the one MVP vote that didn't go to Joe Mauer. There are a lot of questions concerning what the Detroit Tigers are going to do this winter. Some are speculating that there will be a fire sale in Detroit as the team tries to shed payroll going into the 2010 season, and then there are others saying that any such talk is ridiculous. Still, that hasn't stopped rumors from spreading around the league that players like Curtis Granderson and Edwin

Miguel Cabrera joins Tigers' trade talks He's like John Belushi crossed with Albert Pujols. And he turns 27 in April. If only he were more consistent ... I, for one, think a package that starts with Alderson, Villalona, and Barnes has a good chance to land Cabrera.

Lynn Henning wrote this morning about how things have now turned to Cabrera and it looks like the Boston Red Sox are the team being mentioned. While I like [...]
