Paul Phillips time in the sun. He topped out at 92, here's the movement graph: via www.brooksbaseball.net Looks like some four and two seam action, a slider, and some curves. Too small of a sample size to say much. --- Stephen Strasburg started today and gave up three home runs. This is a hitters' league, so whatever. --- Former Rays Joshua Butler ( Gabe Gross ) and Travis Schlichting ( Josh Paul )...

We talked about Heath Rollins on Thursday night, and over the weekend he was the lone Rays arm to enter the game against Surprise. He only threw 14 pitches, but that's 14 data points of pitchfx data that we'd otherwise be without. Not a ton to learn or lean on, mind you, still better than nothing. Rollins Avg MPH H-Break V-Break Fastball 90.8 -5.6 7.5 Curve 78.8 5.9 -5.2 Rollins threw mostly fastballs...

Not sure if there is an official announcement but the same pitch f/x technology found in all 30 MLB stadiums will now be at two ballparks in the Arizona Fall League: Surprise and Peoria. The Rays minor league pitchers play for the Phoenix team so they won't have a good deal of data but at least there will be some to look at later this month. For now, the pitch f/x nerds are just waiting for Stephen...
