According to Sun-Times beat reporter, Gordon Wittenmeyer , with the signing of John Grabow to a 2/7.5 contract (backended as only Jim Hendry can do) and the trading of Aaron Heilman to the Snakes, the Cubs have supposedly made their final bullpen move of the offseason. The deal appears to secure the final key piece to the Cubs' projected 2010 bullpen, coming one day after the team traded veteran Aaron...

Space Station Sixty-Five 65 North Cross Road East Dulwich If you, as we like art to be prawn cocktail flavour, then you will like this. Space Station Sixty-Five is a small gallery in East Dulwich, that's currently playing host to an exhibition inspired by 'The Peckham Experiment' . Although it sounds like a Quatermass sequel about psychological torture, The Peckham Experiment was, according to the...

ACB began campaigning for Randy Wells to win the Rookie of the Year a few days ago. While we only reach about 8 or 9 people, we’re hoping they’ll email 2 or 3 of their friends and maybe we can get the word out to 30 people. Berselius has already compared Wells to potential candidates this season. I decided to look back at the last 10 years to help get an idea where Wells may stand. I found...

I feel like I've been one of the more optimistic Met fans/bloggers out there, but it's time to get real. With the bad news surrounding Reyes and Beltran, the Mets and Omar need to sell relatively high with some of their veteran pieces and hope that no one will walk under any ladders, break any mirrors, or skin any black cats next year . I've been hesitant to do this after so many teams have had extraordinary...

Apparently so. The Marlins are planning on adding Scott Williamson to the mix and see if he has enough left to make the team . The Marlins are adding another veteran reliever to their system. According to a Major League source, the team is finalizing the signing of right-hander Scott Williamson to a Minor League contract. The 33-year-old last pitched in the big leagues with Baltimore in 2007, and he...

The Marlins are about to sign Scott Williamson to a minor league deal, and they have also shown interest in big league relievers, according to MLB.com's Joe Frisaro. Every potential trade partner has asked for Logan Morrison or Mike Stanton in return, but the Marlins consider the two prospects untouchable. The Marlins discussed dealing for George Sherrill or Danys Baez of the Orioles, but recently...

The Marlins are about to add Scott Williamson to their bullpen, according to MLB.com's Joe Frisaro. They're close to finalizing a minor league deal with the 33-year-old righty, who could join new additions Brendan Donnelly and Luis Ayala in the 'pen after a stint in the minors. Williamson last pitched in the majors with the Orioles in 2007. He spent Spring Training with the Tigers this year, but he...

Here's another one I got wrong. I figured Scott Williamson would make a contribution to the Detroit Tigers' bullpen at some point this season, and was glad to see him accept an assignment to Toledo after he didn't make the team this spring. But if Williamson experiences a career revival (he hasn't pitched in the majors since 2007), it won't happen in Detroit. At least not with the Tigers. Williamson...

According to Jon Paul Morosi of the Detroit Free Press, the Tigers' Scott Williamson experiment is over. They released the righty to clear a spot for Eddie Bonine on the Triple A club. Williamson's comeback attempt resulted in runs allowed in three of five appearances for the Toledo Mud Hens. He hasn't pitched in the Majors since '07, but spent time last year with the Atlanta and Seattle Triple A clubs....

The Tigers pitching puzzle was completed this morning with the announcements that Clay Rapada has been optioned to Toledo, Scott Williamson has been reassigned to minor league camp and Nate Robertson has been sent to the bullpen. With these moves, this means that rookies Rick Porcello and Ryan Perry have made the team as a starter and reliever respectively. The rest of the staff looks like this
