GM Omar Minaya continues to bring in as many players as possible to help give the team more options to put together its roster. Last year he brought in the likes of Chan Ho Park, Aaron Sele, Sandy Alomar, Jr. and Fernando Tatis. Sometimes, the player makes a good contribution to the team [...]

According to rotoworld, the Mets declined arbitration on Paul Lo Duca, Shawn Green, Mike DiFelice, Aaron Sele, Jeff Conine, Sandy Alomar Jr, and Jose Valentin. Reports from last month indicated that Jeff Conine was planning on retiring. No surprises here. With the acquisition of Church and Schneider, that left no room for Lo Duca, Green [...]

Sandy Alomar Jr., Mike DiFelice and Aaron Sele all filed for free agency today, along with 39 other major leaguers. …i do not expect sele to be back, though i would not be shocked to find mike d back in the team's minor-league system…meanwhile, the popular buzz in new york seems to be that alomar will [...]

The Mets have 14 players who are free agents. Some, like Aaron Sele and Jeff Conine, will likely retire. Some the Mets will cut ties with and others might return. Who do you want back? -Sandy Alomar: Could retire and go into coaching. -Moises Alou: Hopes Mets will pick up 2008 option. -Marlon Anderson: Terrific off the bench. [...]

Just in time, a set of unlikely bullpen heroes helped the Mets win three straight this weekend, extending their division lead to 2.5 games over the persistent Phillies. Aaron Sele, who had pitched just three times (and a total of 3 1/3 innings) all month, provided key outs Sunday. Scott Schoeneweis, who has heard perhaps the second-loudest boos of any player at Shea this season, saved two of three...

Wanted: Bucket of baseballs. Willing to trade: Guillermo Mota. Here's a question... where would the Mets be if instead of Pelfrey starting the season as the 5th starter, it was Brian Bannister, and instead of Schowenweis, Mota, and Aaron Sele,...

Add to the list of people I never want to see in a Mets uniform again Brian Lawrence, Aaron Sele, and, if he wasn't already, Jorge Sosa (note that the list already included Guillermo Mota and Scott Schoenweis, as well as Chan Ho Park). Joe Smith was no prize yesterday either. UPDATE: Since August 26 , Pedro, Glavine, Maine, Perez and Pelfrey are a combined 9-3 in 102.2 IP with a 2.81 ERA, averaging...

With Sosa going to the bullpen, does it mean that Aaron Sele is going to be packing for New Orleans any time soon? Gary via E-mail I don't think Willie is going to put Sele out just because Sosa has found his way back to a familiar role. If Willie had the intent of putting Sosa in the pen just to option Sele to Triple-A, he would have done it already. He probably would have done it when Brian Lawrence...
