What an indictment it is when your released after it takes the Mets seven relievers to hold onto a game against a last place team that they had a six run lead in and your not one of the pitchers involved in the meltdown. In a pair of minor moves made before the game, the Mets New York Mets released veteran reliever Al Reyes and sent catcher Gustavo Molina back to Venezuela so he could get ready to play winter ball. Al Reyes had not appeared in any games since being signed and called up at the start of the month.

Al Reyes has the most saves of any active player on the Mets roster, just last year he saved 26 of 30 opportunities. I expected the Mets to see what Reyes could provide down the stretch, whether it was as a set-up man or closer.
