Andrew McCutchen just led off for the USA. He's standing at the plate wearing number 24, and he looks just like Rickey Henderson. He's even playing leftfield....

Andrew McCutchen is proving to be a good option in the outfield for the Pirates and could be tested very soon.

Hey, this writing stuff is fun! Since I miss those regular minor league updates - and I know you fellow commenters do as well - I thought I would throw out some information that may or may not be hugely significant, but is at least worth mentioning. Indianapolis (AAA) - Andrew McCutchen is scuffling a bit of late. During the month of June, he's slugging only .338 (3 XBH in 65 AB). Hopefully his recent...

In the comment section to a previous thread , Patthatt writes: How about we take the HS guy with a huge upside in Tim Beckham , be patient and hope he develops over the next 3-4 years like Andrew McCutchen , and possibly Neil Walker , and cross our fingers that the combination of young talent above, other draftees, and whatever new people we bring in through the expected trades later this year and...

In the other is Kevin Thompson , who's Indianapolis' best hitter so far and probably next in the queue when the Bucs need a bench outfielder. Indy's already doing a bunch of juggling trying to play...

Yay! As a charter member of the Free Craig Club, I wholly endorse this move, even if it only means Wilson's going to collect at bats at Indianapolis. Indy already has three outfielders who need to play ( Steve Pearce , Andrew McCutchen and Kevin Thompson ), so Wilson will presumably see time at first base, where they've been starting non-prospect Adam Boeve . In any case, I'm pretty sure Wilson's...
