The following is a video mailbag, during which I talk about Angel Pagan, and how will fit in to the team’s plan next Spring; as well as whether the Mets should make a run for Manny Ramirez. viewNode("24256f97a8aaa", {"width": 320, "height": 263});

The Mets have seen starters Luis Castillo and Ryan Church miss significant portions of the season, it's unknown if Jose Valentin or Orlando Hernandez will ever return and Pedro Martinez barely pitched in the first half. Matt Wise, Trot Nixon, Angel Pagan and Moises Alou are all gone for the season and don't expect anything from Jason Vargas. The Mets desperately need a long man to bridge the gap between...

The last time the Mets played a series at the Marlins Angel Pagan was the team’s hottest hitter, Willie Randolph was securely in place as manager, and the Nationals were in first place! Of course, it was the opening series of the season, and a lot has happened since. Now, nearly 4 months later New York [...]

The good news? This site will be free of bad jokes referencing bad Danny Glover movies for the rest of the year. The bad news, its because Angel Pagan has opted for the season ending surgery on his shoulder. Pagan will return next season. Pagan was hitting .275 while with the team, but hasn’t played since [...]

If I haven't said it before then I'll say it now the Mets need to acquire an outfielder, especially after they received the report that Angel Pagan's set back will result in season ending surgery. Church is said to be chomping at the bit to get back but with his condition there's no telling whether he'll make it the entire year without another stint on the DL. Trot Nixon's 15 days have expired but...

Adam Rubin provides a number of Mets injury updates on his blog for the New York Daily News. Mets team doctor David Altchek recommended surgery to repair Angel Pagan’s torn labrum in his left shoulder. He will seek a second opinion but the expectation is that if he undergoes surgery by Sept. 1, he’d be ready [...]

I said yesterday in a post about minor league action that Angel Pagan went 2-2 against lefty pitching and was removed from the game. Without a report my hope was that Pagan was removed after proving he was ready to hit right handed and was leaving to catch up to the team for the trip to Cincy. But Pagan left the game after experiencing pain in his shoulder during his second at-bat. I'm becoming concerned...

In a situation that seems reminiscent to Moises Alou last year when a bruised quad turned into a strained quad and finally it was revealed as a torn quad, Angel Pagan's condition was much worse then orginally revealed. It just didn't make sense that a bruised shoulder would hold a player out for over a month and could result in season ending surgery. Now Pagan is admitting that he has a torn labrum...

Omar Minaya mentioned that he might not be a buyer at the deadline , despite the clamouring of fans to bring in an outfielder. While I think that's just posturing by Omar to keep the price down, here is how I see this club in the second half using strictly in-house options. With Angel Pagan returning that will cost Nick Evans his spot. Then Ryan Church will replace Robinson Cancel and Luis Castillo...
