The Royals cruised to a road sweep of the Tigers last night behind Brian Bannister’s six shutout innings and a 10 run offensive outburst that featured just one extra base hit. Hey, good things happen to teams that are playing well. Even Tony Pena Jr. knocked in two runs last night. With the [...]

Noooooo Miguel, run faster! The Void is right behind you!! I don’t know about you guys, but nothing says ‘September in tha D’ to me quite like a sweep at the hands of the Royals. Spectacular. Today we made Brian Bannister look like a golden god as well, but let’s face it, we’re [...]

The Tigers plunged fully and unquestionably into last place Wednesday night at Comerica Park, but one player shined in the dim basement light: rookie Jeff Larish. Larish had three of the Tigers' seven hits off Brian Bannister, who didn't allow a run. Larish had five hits in the three-game sweep in which the Royals shut down the Tigers.

DETROIT | Brian Bannister authored the latest chapter for the Royals in this increasingly encouraging September by pitching six shutout innings Wednesday night in a 10-4 mauling of the Detroit Tigers at Comerica Park.

The Royals keep winning, defeating the Tigers 10-4 Wednesday night. Brian Bannister pitches six scoreless innings for the win. I like that Brian is a sabermetrically oriented pitcher, but he's not very good. With the loss, the Royals move one...

PREGAME: It’s been a while since the Tigers scored. Tonight they face a pitcher with a 5.96 ERA in Brian Bannister. But said pitcher hasn’t allowed more than 4 runs to the Tigers in his career. The most recent time he did it he also went 8 innings. The Tigers send out a [...]

Brian Bannister (8-16, 5.96) vs. Nate Robertson (7-10, 6.15) Two teams enter fourth place tonight at Comerica Park, one team will leave in last place. The city of Detroit is still reveling in the Lions' long overdue firing of Matt Millen this morning. It would be nice if the Tigers didn't harsh that mellow with yet another loss that would make them the sole occupant of the AL Central basement. Brian...

The Royals go for eight straight behind Brian Bannister (5.77 ERA) tonight at the K. Bannister has posted a 3.55 ERA at home this season, which is remarkable because nearly all of his other splits are terrible: 7.20 ERA in July, 7.76 in August, 5.94 in September, etc. etc. The White Sox counter with Mark Buehrle (3.85 ERA) . I am excited about not having to spell Buehrle again this season. I'll be...

CLEVELAND | Brian Bannister can take a deep breath now. His 76-day, 13-start winless streak came to a resounding end Sunday afternoon when the Royals clocked a steady stream of Cleveland pitchers in a 13-3 rout at Progressive Field.
