Ian Kennedy (strained lat) pitched for the Gulf Coast League Yankees today. He allowed one run on three hits with no walks and seven strikeouts over three innings. No word on exactly how many pitches he threw, but he wasn’t supposed to go over 50. Chase Wright, who is on the Trenton DL, also pitched three [...]

Mark Melancon through two games for Trenton: 5 2 1 1 0 8. At some point Chase Wright (6-1, 2.70) has to get a chance at Scranton, no? I realize Mike Lowell's homer just landed, but he is left-handed. Jason Jones (7-0, 2.13) can't be long for the Eastern League, either. Here comes Austin Jackson (.275/.371/.409). Austin Romine [...]

While sports talk radio and a lot of Yankee fans have panicked over the start of the season, David Pinto reminds us that things could be worse. Last year, at this point, the Yanks were 8-12, and they had used nine different starters including Carl Pavano, Kei Igawa and Chase Wright. This year, the five [...]

Well, at least it’s only a “slight” tear. Anyone out there have any idea how long this takes to heal? I couldn’t find anything on google. My guess is Chase Wright, not Danny McCutchen, gets called up to fill his roster spot.

Alan Horne, Jeff Marquez and Chase Wright were dispatched to the Minor League camp after today's game. Two of them could be back in the Bronx this year; Chase Wright should join Sean Henn somewhere else.

A few guys that pitched today have been reassigned. RHP Alan Horne, RHP Jeff Marquez and LHP Chase Wright were all sent to the minor-league camp. I bet we see all three of them in the big leagues at some point in 2008.

A more eventful round of cuts today, via Pete Abe : Alan Horne, Jeff Marquez, and Chase Wright. I expect all three to start in AAA. I'm willing to bet we see at least 2 of these 3 before rosters expand in September.

Chase Wright insisted he was fine, that he could remain in the intrasquad game after being hit by catcher Kyle Anson's throw. It might have been embarrassing if he'd had to leave with a "bruised buttock." Wright was pitching, and when Jose Tabata tried to steal second, Anson threw there. But Wright didn't realize it and didn't get down in time. "No big deal," he said, "I'm tough."
