Chris Denorfia got polite applause -- nothing like being the home crowd in a sea of Sox fans, though the A's seem to be used to that -- when he just rocked a single into right centerfield to score Bobby Crosby with the first run of the game. Crosby, who doubled, came in to score, with Kurt Suzuki (walk) heading to third base. Denorfia then put the A's on the board with two outs in the inning. But...

Most of the A's lineup in a 4-3 victory over the Yomiuri Giants on Saturday was regulars, but there's still no clear picture in center field. Ryan Sweeney started there Saturday against Yomiuri, with Chris Denorfia on the bench. Going into camp, the A's said...

According to Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle, the A's and Red Sox are "believed to be discussing Coco Crisp again." Slusser wonders whether the Sox could target Chris Denorfia. Crisp is guaranteed $11MM over the next two seasons, assuming his 2010 option is bought out. Oakland seems like a nice fit for Crisp as they seem likely to fully appreciate the value of his tough-to-quantify defense....

Many of the A's are from San Diego, Orange County, Los Angeles and various Florida towns. Several attended college baseball powers, such as Cal State Fullerton and Texas. Chris Denorfia, who entered the spring as the top choice to start in center field, does...

After a disappointing 2007 campaign, the Oakland Athletics return in 2008 reloaded with a new identity. Names like Haren, Swisher, and Scutaro are mere after-thoughts in 2008. Replacing those names are young bucks like Daric Barton, Joey Devine, and Chris Denorfia. First off, I hope the A’s injury problems are left behind in 2007. [...]

A note in Peter Gammons' blog on espn.com says that the Reds are shopping Chris Denorfia to teams looking for an outfielder. That's no real surprise, and I would be surprised if he was the only one. At this point, to keep talent like Jared Burton around, the Reds are certainly shopping veteran relievers like Rheal Cormier.
