I just saw a note that indicated that former Ranger Chris Stewart has cleared waivers, having been dropped by the New York Yankees, and is now a free agent. Which leads me to wonder...should the Rangers sign Stewart and let him back up Jarrod Saltalamacchia for the next few weeks, allowing Max Ramirez to go back to AAA? Thoughts?

The E-Rod saga is moving faster than we can keep up. And it could be ending just as quickly! From Chad Jennings' Scranton/ Wilkes-Barre Yankees blog: "...Chad Moeller is back with the Yankees and Chris Stewart has been optioned -- at least, the assumption in New York is that it's an option, no official word yet -- back to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. The Triple-A team won't have to make a move because

Chris Stewart's Yankee debut didn't go s'good last night. He went 0-for-3 at the plate with a strikeout and was repeatedly crossed up by Phil Hughes, resulting in two passed balls. Fortunately, Chad Moeller cleared waivers and has been reinstated on the 25-man roster, forcing Stewart back to Scranton (and off the 40-man via a DFA, though the move hasn't been announced yet). Meanwhile, Chris Britton,...

Jon Heyman of SI.com is reporting that Chad Moeller went unclaimed on waivers and is back with the Yankees. That is good news for the Yankees, especially given the problems Chris Stewart had last night. If he’s on the roster, I suspect Moeller could play tonight. Jose Molina was limping around pretty goood after the game in [...]

Brian Cashman indicated that the Yankees will send AAA catcher Chris Stewart here tomorrow. There is no question that Posada is going on the disabled list. The Yankees will have one of their doctors examine Posada, likely on Tuesday. Then he will go see Dr. James Andrews on his own. It was Andrews who repaired his [...]

Chad Jennings is the man!!! Keeping track of minor league signings is a tedious venture so I’m glad someone is keeping up with it. Jennings posted today that the Yankees have signed backup catcher Chris Stewart and assigned him to Triple-A. Catcher Jason Brown was subsequently sent to the GCL. Stewart came up [...]
