Red Sox Considering Bench Additions

Sean McAdam writes today about some bench players on Boston's radar. He names Russell Branyan, Ryan Klesko, Corey Koskie, Jeff Cirillo, and Olmedo Saenz as possibilities. Branyan may be toward the bottom of the list. He had an odd .196/.320/.423 line this year with 10 HR in 163 ABs. Klesko seems the best hitter of the bunch with a .744 OPS this year. Cordero will test the market (Brew Crew Ball)

Adam has the scoop: Joining Cordero in filing for free agency on Monday were relievers Ray King and Scott Linebrink, infielder Corey Koskie and catcher Damian Miller. The Brewers own exclusive negotiating rights with these players until Nov. 12. The last sentence is what matters. I don't really think that the Brewers will (or should) bring Cordero back, but we do have two weeks to give it a shot....
