Baseball history is filled with examples of players who go from clutching their throat in one postseason round to being Mr. Clutch in the next .Or the other way around. Craig Counsell, with the Diamondbacks back in '01, had just three hits in a five-game National League Division Series against the Cardinals. But the Diamondbacks, thanks to a couple of pitchers named Randy Johnson and Curt Schilling,...

From a comment to the previous post, J.J. Hardy may be injured from the home plate celebration after the Braun grand slam won the game for the Brewers. If they need to replace him with Craig Counsell, they don't lose...

According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Brewers SS J.J. Hardy might have injured his hand during the team’s celebration following a walk-off win last night. Craig Counsell would likely replace Hardy at short, with Bill Hall taking over full time at third.

To me Brewers utility infielder Craig Counsell is more than just a 13-year vet with a career .255 average, 35 lifetime long balls and two World Series rings he had little part in obtaining. He also seems like a man who appreciates environmental science and R.L. Stine’s “Goosebumps” book series. Basing this assumption on little more than Counsell’s apparent all-around dorkiness, combined with his resemblance...

Craig Counsell must have really pissed off Ned when he reminded the skipper to pinch run for Brad Nelson the other day, because not only is Bill Hall starting tonight against the righty Josh Geer ( who? ), the Brewers went out and acquired Mike Lamb to serve as a less offensively offensive left-handed third base option. The magic bullet himself, CC Sabathia, takes his turn for the Brewers tonight....

Craig Counsell is atrocious against lefties. He is also atrocious against lefties. There is no reason for him to be in the major leagues, much less starting for a team that is leading the Wild Card. His grit, determination and veteran leadership mean about as much as my grit and determination to never miss a game. I may actually be more valuable than Counsell, as I am not out there pretending to be...
