ESPN's Jerry Crasnick examines the status of nine free agents: Sammy Sosa, Kenny Lofton, Reggie Sanders, Jeff Cirillo, Royce Clayton, Steve Finley, Freddy Garcia, David Wells, and Damian Miller. Lofton is likely to find a job; he's healthy and played reasonably well last year. The Cubs still might be a fit. Seems that Garcia probably won't reach a big league mound until September; auditioning for teams...

The Padres aren't quite sure how long Michael Barrett's elbow injury will knock him out. He won't need Tommy John surgery, but he could miss anywhere from the minimum to two months. Kevin Towers contacted free agent Damian Miller as a possible backup to be used later this month. Miller wasn't able to find a job this winter. For now, the Padres will use the light-hitting Colt Morton behind Josh Bard....

I remember last year's bullpen. They were awesome. This year? Not so freakin' much so far. (Feel free to blame on those runners LOB, too.) KT is looking at Damian Miller as a more permanent back-up for Bard. I hated this article but felt I should bring it to your attention so that you could hate it with me. Germano takes on someone named Jonathan Sanchez tonight . Game time is 7:15pm PDT.

Tom Haudricourt talked to former Brewers catcher Damian Miller today and it sounds likely that Miller is going to retire. I talked on the telephone today with catcher Damian Miller, the La Crosse native who played the past three seasons for the Brewers. Miller has not signed with another team and said he is leaning toward retirement at this point. Miller, 38, wants to stay close to home to be with...

Let's go position by position and name the best available free agent at each. Here's the current list. Catcher - Damian Miller. There's just nothing out there; teams moved fast on catchers this year. First base - Mike Lamb. Some might say Tony Clark, but I'll take the guy who gets on base a little bit at the expense of a few home runs. Lamb's platoon splits are inconsistent; I'm not sure how he'd handle...

The Nationals have some interest in Paul Lo Duca for their starting catching job. Capitol Punishment chronicles the Washington Post's updates. The Nats also like Damian Miller, Johnny Estrada, and Miguel Montero as possibilities.

So the blockbuster happened yesterday between the Fish and the Tigers. We got what looks to be a bargain in a lefty and backup infielder. Have the D-Rays traded away any more troubled outfielders? There were multiple sources that had us talking to free agent backup catcher Damian Miller . He's sort of Todd Prattish. The Nats are also in on him and may offer him more playing time. I'm fine sticking...

MLB.com's Bill Ladson has a handful of Nationals rumors tonight. As you know, Damian Miller, Johnny Estrada, and Miguel Montero have been targeted at the catcher position. The Nats want to sign Bartolo Colon to a one-year deal, but it appears he wants multiple years. As mentioned earlier, the Nats like Kazuo Fukumori. What we didn't mention earlier was the idea that Fukumori could start. The Nationals...

The Nationals aren't ready to anoint Jesus Flores their starting catcher even with Brian Schneider gone. The 23 year-old Rule 5 pick was forced to jump from A ball to the bigs this year so the Nats could retain him. It certainly makes sense to get him to Triple A so he can re-enter a normal development path. That leaves the Nats seeking a veteran catcher. According to MLB.com's Bill Ladson, they've...

Here's what we've learned from our community wishlist: We need a shortstop and some arms in the pen. The most popular of players were catcher Damian Miller, shortstop Ronny Cedeno, and reliever Troy Percival at the same time as a whole we seem to be intrigued by Japanese relievers Kazuo Fukumori and Masahide Kobayashi as well as a plethora of shortstop options. Perhaps the most intriguing option that...

Adam has the scoop: Joining Cordero in filing for free agency on Monday were relievers Ray King and Scott Linebrink, infielder Corey Koskie and catcher Damian Miller. The Brewers own exclusive negotiating rights with these players until Nov. 12. The last sentence is what matters. I don't really think that the Brewers will (or should) bring Cordero back, but we do have two weeks to give it a shot....
