If you hadn’t heard, the Cardinals signed Kyle Lohse to a big-money, four-year contract. Rob Neyer (subscription required) says it’s a big mistake, and even invokes the dreaded name of Eric Milton. It’s not near as bad as that, but it’s a contract that the Cardinals are going to regret one day.

Milton had elbow surgery in June 2007. He will be assigned to Class AAA Scranton and put on the disabled list, allowing him to continue rehabbing at New York's minor league complex in Tampa, Fla.
