According to MLB.com's Scott Merkin, the White Sox will release Esteban Loaiza prior to today's game. It was a short-lived experiment; only three innings. The Sun-Times may have the reasoning behind it in today's article. Joe Cowley says Loaiza hadn't been working out or throwing before the Sox signed him, which may be one of the reasons he can barely crack 80 mph.
