One of our readers sent in this video of his son interviewing Joe Maddon for the local CBS affiliate. Interesting that Maddon compares David Price to John Lackey of Francisco Rodriguez. Could be purely because Lackey was a starter in the minors, or it could be an indication that Price will follow that path and make a handful of starts for the Rays?

LA Angels defeat Cleveland Indians 3-2 . Jeff Mathis hit a solo shot in the fifth inning to put the Angels ahead, and that was all they needed. Yet again, the Angels did just enough to get the win and get Francisco Rodriguez his 41st save. Starter Jered Weaver left the game in the third inning with a tight back, and the Angel bullpen supported him by shutting down the Indians giving up only four hits....

Opinion: As the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim brain trust watches Francisco Rodriguez save game after game, the demonstrative closer kissing the sky in celebration while never excusing himself, it has to wonder: why didn’t we pay this guy what he wanted when we had the chance?

The reliever is on pace to shatter the saves record, but his innings-pitched total is favorable to Manager Mike Scioscia. Some is by luck, some is by design. Either way, the end result has been favorable for the Angels and Francisco Rodriguez , who recorded his major league-high 40th save in the team's 98th game on Sunday but does not appear overworked.
