Wes Littleton is here to replace Scott Feldman. Littleton made sense as the extra reliever because he had the freshest arm. Oklahoma used both Frank Francisco and Kameron Loe yesterday, but not Littleton. Littleton is probably here only until Eddie Guardado returns on Saturday.

The ninth inning has just started in Surprise. A few thoughts: Frank Francisco landed awkwardly on his foot during a pitch in the eighth inning. Ron Washington, Mark Connor and trainer Jamie Reed checked on him, but Francisco threw some pitches, felt fine and stayed in to get his final hitter. It seems like he's OK, but we'll check on that. Fans line up (by sitting in seats on...

Luis Mendoza today: Two innings pitched, one hit, one strikeout, four ground ball outs. 23 pitches. I'd say that's a very good day's work. That's it for today. Get it? The Mendoza Line? I got a million of these. Going to the fifth with Rangers leading 1-0 on a David Murphy double. Frank Francisco entering game.

The A's and Chad Gaudin with a 10-11 record and a 4.47 ERA take on the Rangers and Kevin Millwood with a 9-11 record and a 5.31 ERA. It's kind of funny that the A's happen to be taking on the Rangers in Oakland tonight. It was three years ago tonight that Rangers reliever Frank Francisco threw a chair into the A's crowd and hit a woman in the nose. Francisco hasn't exactly had...

Brandon McCarthy went six innings today, giving way to Frank Francisco in the seventh. It's a decent crowd on hand for the afternoon affair at Rogers Centre. The weather is nice and the lineup was long for those walking up to buy tickets. There's a beer guy that sings to get attention when things are quiet. It seems it works as he's selling plenty of beer. Rangers still behind 2-1, by...

2:00 p.m.: McCarthy at 100 pitches. Alex Rodriguez at plate with Jeter at second in sixth inning. 2:01 p.m.: A-Rod walks on full count. Not worst thing for Rangers. Ron Washington going to Frank Francisco. They need a double play ball. Francisco much more likely to get a grounder or strikeout that McCarthy. McCarthy has only one ground-ball out in the game.

General manager Jon Daniels just said on The Ticket (AM 1310) just moments ago that Eric Gagne threw off flat ground this morning and felt better, but to be safe the team is going to put him on the disabled list. Frank Francisco will take his place on the roster.
