First it was his bat, driving an Edwin Jackson offering on a line into the left field bleachers. His line-drive double in the top of the fifth was the last pitch Jackson would throw as well. Then it was his arm, delivering a frozen rope to Gregg Zaun who kept Jonny Gomes from scoring, keeping momentum [...]

Bases loaded with none out in the 10th. The pessimist in me expected a 1-2-3 double play, but the Mariners had to 'settle' for the 3-2-3 double play. Gregg Zaun will be back off the DL on Wednesday . But Barajas has been hot and the Jays haven't missed him at all. I suspect they'll settle into a 50/50 role over time, but for now the Jays should ride Barajas while he's going good.

For most of the season, Rod Barajas has been a bit of an afterthought. Wishful thinkers used to over-exaggerate his talents because they are so sick of Gregg Zaun (count me as one of them). This was until Barajas showed very little pop at the plate and proved to be no better of an option [...]
